VMM Kit Warranty Information
- New VMM Kit purchases come with a two-year warranty.
- What is covered?
- Failures that occur during normal use.
- What is not covered?
- Failures outside normal use (e.g. Acts of Nature, Customer Abuse).
- Consumables (e.g. Probe tip adapters, COP Clips, Case)
- Fuel Injector Test Adapter (Teradyne does not manufacture this component)
VMM Hotline Support
- Please contact the Ford Technical Information Support (TIS) Hotline. They will diagnose your concern and verify the component that needs to be replaced. After they identify the component they will check your warranty status.
- If the unit is in-warranty, they will request the replacement component for you.
- If the unit is out of warranty, they will direct you to either 1-800-ROTUNDA to purchase any replacement cables/adapters/transducers or provide contact information for Teradyne if you need to replace your VMM.
VMM Out-of-Warranty Support
- VMM Main Unit:
- Teradyne Diagnostic Solutions offers a repair/replacement program.
- Flat cost of repair is $850 including a 90-day warranty.
- Process:
- Customer sends VMM, payment and signed Repair Authorization Form to Teradyne.
- Customer is responsible for shipment cost to Teradyne.
- Once received, unit will undergo inspection to ensure the unit doesn't have excessive damage (e.g. Crushed by a vehicle, fire or water damage)
- If no excessive damage is found, a replacement is sent.
- Note: In order to minimize cost and downtime, a permanent replacement unit is sent to the customer.
- The customer will not receive the original VMM back.
- Teradyne repairs the defective unit and places it back into service stock.
- Should excessive damage be found in repair (eg. water ingress that wasn't noticeable during primary inspection), the customer will be contacted for additional repair cost.
- If the unit can still be repaired then the customer will be required to pay the incremental cost.
- If the cost of repair exceeds the cost of a new VMM unit, the customer will be required to pay the VMM replacement cost.
- All Cables, Adapters and Transducers:
- Customers should contact 1-800-ROTUNDA (768-8632), Option 1 [Diagnostics], then Option 1 [IDS], to purchase any replacement cables.
- All purchases of cables, adapters or transducers after the VMM Kit warranty period expires come with a 90-day warranty.
